What Is The Septic Inspection Process?
At OneStop Shop Inspections, we provide professional septic inspections across Southern Ontario to help you make informed decisions. We encourage clients to join us during the inspection so that questions can be answered in real time.
● Locate & Expose Tank Lids: We begin by locating the septic tank lids. If necessary, lids will be exposed for a thorough inspection.
● Flow (Stress) Test: We simulate system use by performing a flow test to assess how the tank and drain field handle waste.
● Assess System Size & Suitability: We evaluate whether the system is appropriately sized for the property and current usage.
● System Component Inspection: Filters, pumps, and piping are inspected for wear, damage, or operational issues.
● Post-Inspection Review: Findings are reviewed with the client, and a detailed report is provided to guide maintenance and repairs.
Our goal is to give you the knowledge and confidence to fully understand your septic system. We remain available after the inspection to answer questions or provide guidance on any ongoing work.
What Components Are Inspected?During a professional septic inspection, we examine all major components that affect safety and functionality, including:
What Systems Are Evaluated? We check the septic system's performance under normal operating conditions. This includes inspecting the tank’s ability to handle flow, evaluating the drain field’s condition, and ensuring that all filters, pumps, and mechanical components function properly.
What Can and Can’t Be Inspected?
While our inspectors can identify most septic issues, there are some limitations. For example, underground components that cannot be exposed are evaluated visually and through performance tests. A full assessment of buried lines may require methods beyond the standard inspection.
What Happens After the Inspection?
After the inspection, we walk you through all findings, answer questions, and provide a detailed written report. Our goal is to provide you with actionable information to maintain a healthy, functional septic system and to help you make informed decisions about future repairs or upgrades.
Is a Septic Inspection a Guarantee?
A septic inspection is not a warranty or guarantee of system performance. It provides an informed assessment of visible components and current functionality, helping you understand potential risks and maintenance needs.
Will Support Be Available After the Inspection?
Even after the inspection is complete, we remain available to answer questions or provide guidance on any ongoing work. Our priority is to ensure you feel confident in your decisions long after the inspection is complete.
