Well Inspection Process

Ensure Safe and Clean Water with Professional Well Inspections

During a well inspection, we take a comprehensive approach to assess the well’s condition and ensure its ability to provide safe and reliable water.
We provide a comprehensive analysis of your well’s condition and water quality, ensuring you are well-informed about its ongoing care and maintenance.

Locate the Well

We begin by locating the well. In some cases, wells are buried, making it difficult or impossible to locate them, however we will make every effort to find and assess it.

Pump Test to Assess Flow

Using the existing system and pump, we pump water from the well at its highest available flow rate to evaluate how the well performs under heavy usage using the existing equipment. This helps us understand its capacity and reliability.

Assess the Well Area for Contamination Risks

We inspect the area surrounding the well to identify any potential sources of contamination, ensuring that the water remains safe for consumption.

Inspect the Well System Components

We thoroughly inspect the filters, well tank, and any installed water treatment systems. Additionally, we’ll educate you on how the entire system operates and provide guidance on maintenance practices to help extend the life of the system and maintain the best water quality.

Water Quality Testing

A water sample is taken on-site for testing of key parameters, including:● pH● Hardness● Iron● Nitrate● Alkalinity

Water Quality Testing

If requested, we will provide a sample bottle for you to take to the Health Unit for a free potability test, which checks for E. coli and coliform. This test is commonly required by lenders within 30 days of closing on a property.

Faq

A well inspection can identify potential sources of contamination, helping to assess risks to your water supply. While the inspection itself doesn’t test for all contaminants, a nitrate test can indicate possible organic contamination. Additional water testing may be needed for a comprehensive analysis of water quality.
