Septic System Inspection Process

Comprehensive Septic Tank Inspections for System Longevity and Safety

When we perform a septic system inspection, we follow a comprehensive process to ensure that the system is operating properly and to provide you with valuable insights on its condition.

Our thorough inspection services and expert advice are designed to help you maintain a properly functioning septic system for years to come.

Locate and Expose Tank Lids

We begin by locating the septic tank lids. If they are not easily accessible, we will expose them if necessary. Once the lids are removed, we will inspect the visible components of the system.
Note: We prefer that the current owners expose the lids before the inspection, as this can help save time and ensure a more thorough inspection.
Important: We do not recommend having the tank pumped prior to or during the inspection, as this would prevent us from assessing how the system is currently being used and its operational condition.

Perform a Flow (Stress) Test and Bed Loading

We conduct a flow or stress test, where we load the bed with water to evaluate its ability to handle the volume of waste it needs to process.

Assess the System’s Size and Suitability

We assess the system’s size and compare it to what is expected for the home & size, number of fixtures, and other factors to ensure it is properly sized for the current usage.

Educate the Client

Our goal is to empower you with knowledge. We will educate you on how the septic system is constructed and operates. Additionally, we will provide guidance on how to best live on the system to extend its lifespan and avoid costly repairs.
